As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Original and unpublished manuscripts, that must also not be under analysis for publication in any other media. However, CSJ accepts a manuscript that was published in events, provided that all submission rules are respected. CSJ adopts iThenticate to control for plagiarism.
  • The submission file must be Microsoft Word (.docx) or OpenOffice (.odt).
  • URLs and DOIs for references are to be informed as possible.
  • The manuscript should follow this formatting instructions: double space; Calibri 11 size font; use italic instead of underline (except for URL); figures and tables are inserted in the text and not in the end as attachments.
  • The manuscript follows standards and requirements described in Author Guidelines.
  • The author(s) agree that from the manuscript publication on, Connection Scientific Journal (CSJ) has the article’s copyrights.

Submission Requirements

Articles submitted to the Connection Scientific Journal (CSJ) must be unpublished, both nationally and internationally, and must not be under analysis for publication in any other media. Papers published in annals of events can be considered by the Editorial Board, as long as they are in the final form of the article and follow the submission rules of this journal. Manuscripts can be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish.

Submission Process

The submission process should follow the requirements below. Submissions that disrespect these rules will be returned to the authors.

General Information:

  • The manuscripts should be submitted by the authors on the journal’s platform system using private login;
  • The submitted file must be free of any virus;
  • The manuscript should be formatted according to the American Psychological Association manual (APA), 7th edition (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines);
  • It is not allowed any type of identification of authorship in the submitted manuscript;
  • The approved manuscript’s content is the author’s responsibility, who approves its publication;
  • The article should be unprecedented in Brazil or in another country and it is not a break of uniqueness the insertion of a part or of a preliminary version of it in scientific event’s annals of any nature;
  • The editorial management has competency to suggest changes in the manuscript related to the content or adequacy to the writing rules before the beginning of peer review process;
  • The manuscript should be presented in standard language. The evaluators do not correct anything if it contains grammatical mistakes and it will be rejected. Therefore it is the author's responsibility to pay attention to this requirement;
  • In order to distinguish authors and to provide visibility to the published scientific production of Connection Scientific Journal, author(s) should insert the ORCID ID (https://orcid.org/) on the submission system;
  • The manuscript should be submitted through the journal’s website: http://csj.abpsec.org.br/ after the author’s registration.

Information about the structure related to the manuscript format:

  • Calibri, size 11, double space and paragraph gap 0.5" all text.
  • The page layout should be A4 (11.69" X 8.27"), 1" all margins;
  • The file extensions might be: “.docx” (Word) or “.odt” (OpenOffice).

For Articles

  • The manuscript number of pages should be, as minimum, 15 and maximum, 24, including:
    • Title - for Portuguese manuscripts, add title in English and if it is in English or Spanish, add title in Portuguese;
    • Abstract (Resumo/Abstract/Resumen) - follow the same title standard;
    • Keywords (Palavras-chave/Keywords/Palabras clave) - follow the same title standard;
    • Other sections - Introduction, Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Result Analysis and Discussion, Final Considerations and References - should be written in only one language.

For Technical Reports:

  • The manuscript number of pages should be, as minimum, 10 and maximum, 15, including:
    • Title - for Portuguese manuscripts, add title in English and if it is in English or Spanish, add title in Portuguese;
    • Abstract (Resumo/Abstract/Resumen) - follow the same title standard;
    • Keywords (Palavras-chave/Keywords/Palabras clave) - follow the same title standard;
    • Other sections - Introduction, Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Result Analysis and Discussion, Final Considerations and References - should be written in only one language.

Information about text structure

Title and Subtitle:

  • Should be the first manuscript information and if followed by subtitles should be separated by colon (:);
  • The first letter of each word must be capitalized, size 11, bold and centralized. First, write the Portuguese title followed by the English and/or Spanish translation, single row with double space between the titles.

Abstract (Resumo/Abstract/Resumen):

  1. Resumo: Portuguese - 250 words maximum.
  2. Abstract: English - 250 words maximum.
  3. Resumen: Spanish - 250 words maximum.
  4. Font size: 11, double space.
  5. Automatic translations will not be accepted (e.g.: google translator).

Keywords (Palavras-chave/Palabras clave):

  • From 3 to 5, separated by comma (,).

Footnotes:

  • The manuscript should not have any footnote.

Sections:

They represent a system that organizes the titles in levels to differentiate and classify the manuscript parts. APA has five levels of titles which should be presented as follows:

  • Level 1 - Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Result Analysis and Discussion, Final Considerations and References. Centralized, bold, the first letter in every word should be capitalized;
  • Level 2 - Aligned on the left side, bold, the first letter in every word should be capitalized;
  • Level 3 - Aligned on the left side, bold and italic, the first letter in every word should be capitalized;
  • Level 4 - Indented 0.5" scrolling text, bold, the first letter in every word should be capitalized, should be ended with a period;
  • Level 5 - Indented 0.5" scrolling text, bold, italic, every word should be capitalized and should be ended with a period.

Citations:

  • Short citations: with less than 40 words should be included in the paragraph between double quotation marks. If there is any orthographic, punctuation or grammatical mistake, the author might insert sic as an expression in italic brackets immediately after the mistake;
  • Long citations: with more than 40 words should be written in independent pad without quotation marks. Calibri 11, indent 0.5" scrolling text, double space.

Tables & Figures:

  • Illustration tables and figures should:
    • be inserted in the text;
    • be clear enough to be read;
    • Font: Calibri 11 - for title, text and font;
    • Table title: inserted above the table, left side and just below the word Table (initial letter capitalized and bold) followed by a number (arabic and sequential). Example: Table 1, Table 2, Table 3. The table title should be in italic, first of each letter capitalized;

    • Figure title: inserted in the bottom part of the figure, left side. The word Figure should be followed by number (arabic and sequential). E.g. Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3. Bold. The figure title should be in italic, first of each letter capitalized;

Bold: only in section titles or to emphasize a sentence/word.

Italic: foreign language.

References: all lists should follow the APA rules:

  • URLs and DOIs to references should be informed as possible;
  • The authors should observe the space between each reference since the second line (indent 0.5").

Authors:

The manuscript should be written by 5 authors as maximum.

The information about authors should be inserted on the journal’s system.

The submitted manuscripts should be signed by Ph.D, Masters, Doctoral or Master students, postgraduate (Specialist/MBA), postgraduate students (Specialist/MBA), graduates and graduate students and at least one of the authors should be a Master.
